PBT Group is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a strategic architecture engagement, supporting the development of OT/IT Data Integration and Business Building Architecture.
The role will work across Enterprise, Data, Integration, Security and Business Architecture, translating strategic objectives and business requirements into practical architecture artefacts, reference architectures, target-state views and phased technology roadmaps. The successful candidate will engage with business, IT, OT, data, cyber security and integration stakeholders to facilitate workshops, assess current-state environments and develop governance-ready architecture recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop enterprise, reference and target-state architecture artefacts aligned to business and technology strategy.
Facilitate architecture workshops across business, OT, IT, data, cyber security, integration and platform teams.
Define OT/IT integration architecture, including data flows, security boundaries, integration patterns and operational considerations.
Identify and document data domains, ownership, stewardship and data platform requirements.
Develop data platform strategies and governance frameworks aligned to enterprise architecture principles.
Define and evaluate integration patterns, including API, event-driven, batch, mediated and data-platform approaches.
Develop business capability maps and assess operating-model implications.
Define target data architectures, including data domains, ownership, master/reference data and analytics requirements.
Develop phased architecture and technology roadmaps, including dependencies, risks, priorities and key decision points.
Produce Architecture Decision Records, architecture packs, governance checklists and other materials required for architecture review and approval.
Maintain architecture decision, risk, issue, assumption and dependency logs.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve conflicting viewpoints and translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations.
Support knowledge transfer and ensure architecture artefacts are appropriately documented and stored within the relevant EA repository.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years' experience in Enterprise, Solution, Integration and/or Data Architecture.
Strong experience developing enterprise, reference and target-state architectures.
Practical experience with OT/IT integration and industrial environments.
Strong understanding of integration architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience in Data Architecture, data platforms, data governance and data ownership.
Understanding of Cyber Security Architecture, including security boundaries, segmentation, access control and secure integration principles.
Experience with Business Architecture, business capability modelling and operating-model considerations.
Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills.
Experience producing architecture documentation, roadmaps, decision records and governance-ready material.
Ability to work across both strategic and detailed technical architecture discussions.
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or a related field.
Enterprise Architecture certification or training such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, BIZBOK or equivalent practical methodology experience is advantageous.
Advantageous Experience
Experience within energy, mining, chemicals, manufacturing or other large industrial environments.
Exposure to MES, historians, plant data platforms, industrial connectivity, ISA-95 or OT Cyber Security.
Experience with MuleSoft, Azure Integration Services, Kafka/event streaming or API Management.
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Databricks, Snowflake or similar data platforms.
Experience with EA and architecture modelling tools such as SAP LeanIX, ServiceNow APM/CMDB, Sparx Enterprise Architect, Archi, Lucid or Miro.
Experience in New Energy, sustainability, trading, logistics, customer or commercial operating models would be beneficial.
