Job Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) to join our Skills & Training Department (Johannesburg).
This role plays a key part in supporting client organisations with Skills Development and Employment Equity compliance in line with South African legislation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR), coordinating training initiatives, engaging with SETAs, and supporting clients with Employment Equity reporting. The role requires a strong understanding of compliance processes and the ability to maintain professional client relationships while ensuring deadlines and legislative requirements are met.
Job Purpose
The Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) is responsible for managing and implementing Skills Development and Employment Equity processes for client organisations in line with South African legislation. The role ensures compliance with SETA requirements, facilitates Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) submissions, coordinates training initiatives, and supports clients with Skills Development and Employment Equity compliance. The SDF acts as a liaison between clients, SETAs, training providers, and internal stakeholders to maximise grant recovery and ensure legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Skills Development Planning and Compliance
- Manage and implement Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR).
- Ensure compliance with the Skills Development Act and SETA requirements.
- Compile and submit WSP-ATR reports on behalf of clients.
- Analyse organisational training needs and workforce development requirements.
- Maintain and update employee training records and skills profiles.
- Monitor grant eligibility and assist clients with Mandatory Grant recovery.
- Ensure compliance with SETA deadlines and submission requirements.
SETA and Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and relevant SETAs.
- Submit reports, respond to SETA queries, and resolve compliance issues.
- Assist with discretionary grant applications where required.
- Maintain relationships with training providers and SETA representatives.
Training Coordination and Implementation
- Coordinate training interventions.
- Monitor implementation of approved training plans.
- Track learner progress and training outcomes.
- Ensure training records and supporting documentation are accurate and complete.
- Assist with training scheduling and logistics where required.
Employment Equity Support
- Assist clients with Employment Equity compliance and reporting.
- Support preparation of Employment Equity submissions (EEA12, EEA13, EEA2 and EEA4).
- Assist with workforce analysis and Employment Equity planning.
- Support development of Employment Equity Plans and reporting documentation.
Client Relationship Management
- Provide ongoing support and advisory services to clients.
- Guide clients on legislative compliance and best practices.
- Ensure high levels of service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Conduct client meetings and provide progress updates.
Administration and Reporting
- Maintain accurate client files and compliance documentation.
- Prepare reports and progress updates for clients.
- Maintain internal tracking systems and databases.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- Registered Skills Development Facilitator certification (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Skills Development Facilitation or a related role
- Experience with WSP-ATR submissions
- Experience working with SETAs
- Experience with Employment Equity reporting
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of the Skills Development Act and SETA processes
- Understanding of Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports
- Knowledge of Employment Equity legislation
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience working with SETA portals and reporting systems
