Job Summary
Manufacturing company, based in Pinetown, requires an HR Manager, who will lead the full HR function for the business. Reporting to the CEO, the role and responsibilities include recruitment, industrial relations, dispute resolution, performance management while fostering company culture.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management
- At least 5 years’ HR experience in a generalist role
- Minimum of 3 years’ senior management experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of South African Labour Legislation and HR Best Practices
- CCMA Experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
- Strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with the operational teams
- Proficient in MS Office, Sage VIP and EDMA Time & Attendance systems
Key Performance Areas:
- Oversee and manage all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training & development, BEE and HR compliance
- Support line managers in dealing with performance, disciplinary, and grievance issues
- Facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and aligned with current labour legislation
- Manage and report on HR metrics including staff turnover, absenteeism, sick leave
- Identify high-potential talent and maintain the talent pipelines/pools
- Foster a positive workplace culture and drive employee engagement
- Provide strategic input to support operational goals and long-term people strategies
- Managing the HR team and ensuring that solid basic transactional HR functions are managed according to expected procedure and standard.
- Support Develop and Coach the HR team ensuring they are regularly upskilled and kept motivated.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance of Data protection throughout the HR Department.
- Management of employee relations ensuring consistency and timeous outcomes.
- Management of the recruitment function and ensuring timeous appointments.
- Supporting the Employment Equity function ensuring EE plans and adherence.
- Daily, weekly and monthly reports.
