WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a fast-growing global HR technology business to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager (Switzerland). This is an exciting opportunity for an HR and payroll professional with strong knowledge of Swiss labour legislation and labour leasing regulations to play a key role in supporting Swiss operations.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee HR administration, payroll coordination, and regulatory compliance while acting as the primary point of contact for Swiss employment matters. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact within a dynamic international business.
About the RoleAs Payroll Manager, you will manage day-to-day HR operations, coordinate payroll with external providers, and ensure compliance with Swiss labour leasing legislation, employment law, and staffing industry regulations. You will act as the Responsible Person for the Swiss entity, partnering with both internal teams and regulatory authorities to ensure all employment activities are compliant.
This role combines payroll, HR operations, compliance, and stakeholder management within a collaborative, globally distributed environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesHR Operations & Employee Support
Coordinate employee onboarding and support new joiners
Prepare employment contracts, job descriptions, and HR documentation
Maintain accurate personnel and labour records
Respond to employee HR and payroll queries
Coordinate monthly payroll inputs with the Swiss payroll provider, including timesheets, leave, sick pay, and allowances
Swiss Labour Leasing Compliance
Act as the Responsible Person for the Swiss entity
Ensure compliance with Swiss labour leasing legislation, Swiss employment law, and staffing industry GAV requirements
Oversee compliant employee assignments to clients
Monitor salary accuracy and social security contributions
Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
Act as the primary liaison with SECO and cantonal authorities
Respond to regulatory enquiries, audits, and inspections
Ensure business operations comply with Swiss legal requirements
Operational Leadership
Support Swiss operational activities and HR best practices
Drive process improvements across HR operations
Collaborate with global internal teams to ensure compliance across Swiss employee engagements
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR and payroll processes
What You'll BringMinimum 3 years' relevant experience in labour leasing, staffing operations, HR operations, or recruitment with operational responsibility
Alternatively, a relevant qualification combined with applicable operational experience
Strong knowledge of:
Experience managing staffing operations independently
Familiarity with Swiss payroll processes
Experience engaging with Swiss regulatory authorities
Strong communication and administrative skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent stakeholder and people management skills
German or French language skills advantageous but not essential
Nice to HaveExperience within an Employer of Record (EOR), HR Tech, or global payroll environment
Exposure to international HR operations
Process improvement experience
Experience working with external payroll providers
Knowledge of Swiss compliance audits and inspections
German and/or French language proficiency
