Job Summary

This is a senior and all-encompassing position

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Agricultural Degree
Business Degree
Strong financial acumen
Computer literate
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Min of 8 previous years in similar role
Agricultural background essential
Experience with vegetable tunnel farming advantageous
Experience with herb farming advantageous
Knowledge of fish production advantageous

Duties, including but not limited to:

Forward planning
Handling paperwork and keeping administrative records
Training/instructing and supervising farm workers
Making sure that work progresses satisfactorily
Ensuring compliance with company regulations and health and safety standards
Ensuring that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets
Organising maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment, and machinery
Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization
Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity
Actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget

Additional responsibilities:

All steps for the production of crops including growing program development, crop production, planting, fertilization, harvesting.
Select and purchase supplies like seeds, fertilizers, and farm equipment.
Make sure that all farm equipment is maintained properly
General maintenance and ensuring the appearance of the farm is neat.
Instruct and adjust worker activities like planting, irrigation, harvesting and grading
Keep records, such as production, farm management practices, and parent stock information, and prepare financial and operational reports
Will also oversee the water and power production facility.
