Job Summary
We are seeking a capable, organized, and proactive Transport & Depot Coordinator to join a dynamic logistics team.
This role is ideal for an individual with solid operational experience who is ready to take ownership within a logistics, packhouse, depot, cold store, and transport environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day logistics operations, supporting planning activities, managing communication between service providers, and assisting with the effective execution of operational plans.
The position requires someone who can work well under pressure, communicate effectively, follow up diligently, and ensure logistics activities are planned, monitored, and executed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Packhouse Planning Coordination
- Coordinate and support the packhouse planning process.
- Gather and verify operational information.
- Update planning schedules and monitor packing progress.
- Identify potential delays and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with packhouses, depots, transporters, and internal teams.
Depot & Cold Store Coordination
- Assist with planning and coordinating depot and cold store operations.
- Monitor intake, dispatches, pallet movements, capacity utilization, and stock flow.
- Ensure accurate daily operational updates and reporting.
Transport Coordination & Follow-Up
- Coordinate transport requirements and confirm bookings.
- Follow up with transport service providers.
- Track loads and monitor dispatch execution.
- Ensure transport plans are communicated and delivered on schedule.
Operational Reporting & Administration
- Maintain and improve daily logistics reports.
- Update planning documents and operational records.
- Verify the accuracy of operational information.
- Assist with reconciliations and administrative processes.
Service Provider Communication
- Liaise with depots, packhouses, cold stores, transporters, and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and timely problem resolution.
- Support the efficient execution of logistics plans.
Operational Support & Decision-Making
- Support daily logistics operations and planning decisions.
- Identify operational risks and issues before they escalate.
- Assist with contingency planning and process improvements.
- Contribute to service provider performance management and operational efficiency.
Growth & Development
- Take on increasing responsibility over time, including involvement in:
- Depot oversight
- Transport rate negotiations
- Packhouse planning
- Service provider management
- Cost control initiatives
- Broader logistics decision-making
RequirementsQualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in logistics, transport, agriculture, fruit export, cold storage, supply chain, or packhouse operations.
- Experience coordinating operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transport, depot, and cold store operations will be advantageous.
