Job Summary
Our client based in the Ixopo area is currently looking for an Assistant Nursery Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate must be disciplined and motivated.
Requirements:
- Must be an honest, reliable and hardworking individual who ‘gets their hands dirty’
- Have good organization and time management skills
- Have a positive attitude; be conscientious and work well as part of a team
- Have a desire to work in the agriculture industry and produce excellent quality plants
- Preference will be given to candidates with a horticulture qualification and applicable experience in the industry
Responsibilities:
- Manage the vegetable seeding operations and tray movement
- Manage growing activities of vegetable seedlings (irrigation, spraying, etc.)
- Conduct plant quality checks and compile weekly stock reports and germination checks
- Manage dispatch operations, pulling of orders and loading of trucks
- Manage maintenance activities
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Horticulture or related Degree
Workings Hours: 06:30am – 17:00pm (one-hour lunch break)
A weekend duty is required every 3 weeks.
Accommodation is provided on site; own transport is required.
