Job Summary
Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Bovine Technical Assistant to join our agricultural team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in cattle farming who is eager to gain hands-on experience while supporting technical and administrative functions within the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily cattle management and monitoring
- Support data collection, recordkeeping, and accurate counting of livestock
- Perform administrative tasks related to herd management and reporting
- Assist with implementation of technical processes and farm procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, production, and movement
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders
- Provide support during early shifts, overtime, and peak operational periods
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential
- Qualification or studies towards B-Agric or BSc will be advantageous
- Basic knowledge and understanding of cattle farming practices
- Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Good numerical ability, especially for counting and recordkeeping
- Above-average communication skills in both English and Afrikaans, particularly within the agricultural sector
- Willingness to work overtime and early shifts when required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
