Where You'll Make an Impact:
Act as the Responsible Pharmacist in accordance with SAPC regulations
Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy Act, Medicines and Related Substances Act, Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP), and related standards
Maintain the company's pharmacy licence and oversee ongoing regulatory compliance
Manage procurement, storage, and distribution of medicines and scheduled substances, including temperature-controlled processes
Develop, implement, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Lead quality management systems, CAPAs, audits, and inspections
Investigate deviations, product complaints, and non-conformances
Oversee statutory documentation and controlled drug registers
Provide guidance on pharmaceutical legislation and regulatory updates
Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure end-to-end compliance
Manage import/export regulations and hazardous chemical handling where applicable
Conduct supplier qualification and oversee quality assurance
Lead risk management initiatives across the pharmaceutical supply chain
Duties:
Act as the appointed Responsible Pharmacist in accordance with SAPC regulations
Ensure compliance with relevant pharmaceutical laws and standards
Maintain the pharmacy licence and regulatory documentation
Oversee procurement, storage, and distribution processes
Develop and maintain SOPs and QMS
Lead internal audits and coordinate inspections
Investigate non-conformances and manage product recalls
Ensure accurate controlled drug registers and statutory records
Provide regulatory guidance to relevant teams
Manage import/export and hazardous chemical protocols
Conduct supplier qualification and oversee quality metrics
Drive risk management strategies within the supply chain
Requirements:
Registered Pharmacist with SAPC
3-5 years' experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical environment
Strong knowledge of auditing, regulations, and quality management systems
Experience with SOP development and implementation
Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical legislation and compliance standards
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of SAHPRA regulations
Experience with import/export procedures
Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling
