Roles and Responsibilities
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our warehouse operations in Chloorkop, Kempton Park. This role involves managing a team of 20–25 employees across multiple warehouse stands and overseeing all aspects of stock flow, team performance, compliance, and customer returns. You’ll need to be physically fit, process-driven, and a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving & Unpacking
Supervise incoming stock, quality checks, and sorting. Ensure proper handling and storage procedures.
Inventory & Stock Management
Manage inter-warehouse stock transfers. Implement and enforce FIFO/FEFO stock rotation principles. Conduct regular cycle counts and maintain ERP accuracy.
Logistics & Distribution
Coordinate timely deliveries and stock replenishment. Resolve delivery discrepancies (short/over deliveries) proactively.
Returns & Damages Management
Oversee and process all customer returns and internal damages. Investigate root causes and drive corrective actions. Minimise losses through efficient, traceable return processes.
Team Leadership & Communication
Manage and lead a team of 20–25 staff. Conduct daily team meetings to address performance, delivery issues, and task allocation. Enforce discipline and maintain high operational standards. Train new staff in their roles and responsibilities.
Process Development & Improvement
Create, amend, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Be solution-focused and adaptable in challenging situations.
Reporting & Systems
Maintain accurate stock movement records and reporting. Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP tools. Compile reports and analyse data to improve performance.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experienced in WMS and ERP systems. Confident in using Microsoft Teams for internal communication. Strong documentation and SOP-writing skills.
KEY COMPETENCIES
Strong leadership and people management skills. Physically fit and capable of navigating multiple warehouse sites. Highly analytical and quick-thinking – able to solve problems on the spot. Process-driven, with the ability to lead improvements and streamline workflows. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
