Position: Jnr IT Manager

Description
Together with the IT Manager they will share in ensuring the stable operation of the in-house computer network that promotes business productivity. Also, to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links as well as ensuring the availability of client/server applications and co-developing processes plus procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
Oversee the security, integrity, and safety of the data environment. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems, especially networking.
You will be responsible for developing network maintenance and growth plans and keeping the executive team up to date on the latest networking technologies that could help the company to succeed. The successful candidate will be a Generalist and not a specialist, even though a strong networking experience will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1st/2nd line technical support
- Be part of IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
- Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
- Perform Server Management (Domain, Exchange, AD, File, Print, and Storage)
- Assist with network design and capacity planning, including setting up of VLANS building and looking after cloud solution and other networks configurations
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. This includes over the network support to reps in field
- Devise strategies for client/server implementations; and the infrastructure required to support those strategies.
- Implement new server systems, applications, and hardware
- Network, server and device capacity and alert monitoring and management
- Implement policies, procedures, and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure IT Security and maintain DR & BCM standards
- Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
- Provide telecommunications support on IP phones. This is in hand with vendor support
- Recommend and execute modifications to server environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Develop and maintain server and network documentation
- Administer equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
- Practice asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
- Perform server and security audits
- Perform and maintain system backups and recovery via backup software
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Manage and maintain the Storage environment
- Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
- Assist with Power Pivots (Flow of data & maintain)
- Have back round on SQL (SQL Queries, running tasks and lookup of data)
- Look after Office 365 standards and give support
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer - (MCSE) OR Microsoft Certified IT Professional - (MCITP).
- CCNA or related networking certification beneficial OR
- College/University Diploma in the field of Computer Science
Knowledge & Experience
- At least three to 5 years’ equivalent work experience
- Must have some experience in Sophos Firewalls, HP Aruba Switches, Networking/VLANs, EMC Storage
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment
- Familiarity with TCP/IP and other network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration.
- General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue.
- Experience in Cloud Management either in Azure or AWS. Strong background needed in administration and migration
- Experience in Office 365 (End to End Support)
