Minimum requirements

• Matric
• Qualification in Bachelor of Optometry
• Completed practical / clinical rotation training
• HPCSA registration to practice
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Valid driver's license and own vehicle
• MUST be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision, eye health, and visual performance
• Diagnose refractive errors and identify ocular conditions and abnormalities
• Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and appropriate visual solutions
• Fit, assess, and manage contact lenses, including patient education and follow-ups
• Provide professional advice on eyewear, lenses, and eye care products
• Detect and manage ocular diseases within scope of practice and refer patients to ophthalmologists when required
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with HPCSA and company policies
• Deliver exceptional patient care and customer service to ensure a positive client experience
• Work collaboratively with the retail and clinical team to achieve service excellence and sales targets
• Ensure the optometry practice is compliant with health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Stay updated with industry advancements, clinical guidelines, and continuing professional development requirements
• Support store operations and contribute to the professional image and reputation of the practice

Monday - Friday: 08h30 - 17h30

Saturday: 09h00 - 13h30
