Unit Manager (Theatre)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Unit Manager (Theatre) to lead and coordinate high-quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary theatre environment.
Role Summary
The Unit Manager (Theatre) will be responsible for coordinating and improving quality nursing care by ensuring compliance with professional, ethical, and legislative standards. The role includes monitoring service delivery within a multidisciplinary quality assurance team, as well as driving capacity building through mentoring, training, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing care in the theatre unit
Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and healthcare legislation standards
Monitor and improve nursing care and service delivery
Lead, mentor, and develop theatre nursing staff
Coordinate training, capacity building, and performance management
Contribute to effective resource and financial management within the unit
Inherent Requirements
Diploma in General Nursing (NQF Level 6) or B Cur Degree (NQF Level 7)
Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
Diploma in Operating Room Science or equivalent (essential)
Management qualification (advantageous)
Minimum 4–6 years’ Operating Theatre experience
2–3 years’ managerial experience in a multidisciplinary theatre complex
Compliance with the SANC code and all applicable healthcare legislation
Intermediate computer proficiency
Sound financial knowledge with the ability to interpret financial data
