Job Summary
Our client, a leading organisation operating within a highly regulated and mission-critical environment, is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Technical Programme Manager to provide end-to-end accountability for a large-scale infrastructure modernisation programme. This role goes far beyond traditional project coordination and requires a seasoned infrastructure professional who can challenge technical designs, manage complex dependencies, mitigate risk, and drive delivery across multiple technology domains.
You will lead programme planning, governance, technical coordination, vendor management, migration activities, operational readiness, and executive stakeholder engagement while ensuring successful implementation of critical infrastructure initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure leader to apply both technical expertise and programme management excellence within a high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end planning, governance and delivery assurance of a complex infrastructure programme.
- Develop and maintain integrated programme plans, managing milestones, critical paths, dependencies, resources and decision gates.
- Drive delivery across infrastructure, messaging, identity, networking, security, migration, cutover and operational handover workstreams.
- Lead technical workshops, readiness reviews, design reviews, cutover planning sessions and post-implementation reviews.
- Manage programme RAID logs, change control processes, vendor performance, financial tracking and resource forecasting.
- Challenge technical teams and service providers on architecture quality, resilience, security, operability and supportability.
- Communicate programme status, risks, investment requirements and key decisions to senior executives and governance forums.
- Ensure production readiness by governing testing, security approvals, rollback plans, monitoring, documentation and support acceptance.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Technology Management, Programme Management, Business Administration or a related discipline is advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within enterprise infrastructure, technology operations, infrastructure engineering, architecture or technical delivery environments.
- At least 5 years' experience leading complex enterprise infrastructure programmes or major infrastructure workstreams.
- Proven experience delivering across the complete programme lifecycle, including discovery, design, procurement, build, testing, migration, cutover and transition to BAU.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple vendors, managed service providers and specialist technical teams.
- Strong experience delivering within regulated, security-sensitive, high-availability or mission-critical environments.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, virtualisation, storage, backup, disaster recovery and operational readiness.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange, hybrid messaging environments, Active Directory, Entra ID and hybrid identity services.
- Experience with enterprise networking, interconnectivity, VPNs, firewalls, cloud connectivity and infrastructure integration requirements.
- Solid knowledge of PKI, certificates, IAM, PAM, MFA, SSO and cyber security governance principles.
- Experience coordinating on-premises, private cloud and public cloud infrastructure environments.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, risk management and governance capabilities.
- Must hold at least one recognised programme or project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, PgMP, MSP Practitioner or SAFe.
- Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, Google Cloud, Cisco CCNP, TOGAF or cyber security certifications will be highly advantageous.
