As an IT Technical Project Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery across complex IT initiatives. You will work closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic objectives.
This role is ideal for an experienced project leader who thrives in high-pressure environments, enjoys managing large-scale programmes, and has a strong track record of delivering complex technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of complex IT and platform projects
- Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment to business objectives
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and risk registers
- Lead cross-functional teams across technical and business units
- Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively
- Oversee data migration, system implementation, and legacy system decommissioning
- Ensure quality delivery through testing, governance, and execution control
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, reporting, and governance processes
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance
- Drive change management and ensure successful user adoption
- Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory, and security requirements
- Provide regular reporting at executive and stakeholder level
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:- Degree in a relevant field (Honours or equivalent preferred)
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 or similar)
Experience:- 8–10 years’ experience delivering complex IT or engineering projects
- Minimum 5 years in a senior project management or programme management role
- Proven experience managing large-scale transformation or platform projects
- Experience managing significant project budgets and cross-functional teams
Technical Skills:- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and delivery methodologies
- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments
- Knowledge of data migration, system integration, and platform implementation
- Understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, security, resilience)
- Experience managing multi-team, multi-system environments
Advantageous:- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services or insurance
- Exposure to enterprise system implementations or modernisation programmes
- Experience with large-scale data migration and system cutovers
