Job Summary
Our established and proactive client is looking for a hardworking, accurate and hands on Cost Accountant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and working across costing, bookkeeping, stock control and purchasing.
Key responsibilities include
• Managing and maintaining accurate stock records, reconciliations and controls
• Taking full responsibility for stock takes, investigating variances and ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Overseeing the buying process from purchase requisitions and supplier orders through to receipt, invoice matching and payment preparation
• Calculating product costs, including imported material costs, freight, duties and other landed costs
• Managing the accurate recording and costing of imported and exported goods
• Handling day to day bookkeeping and ensuring financial transactions are accurately captured and supported
• Developing and improving financial, purchasing and stock control systems
• Identifying practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Preparing accurate cost, stock and purchasing reports for management
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, analytical and comfortable working across both accounting and operational processes. They will be someone who takes ownership and understands the importance of following a transaction from the initial purchase right through to the final stock and cost records.
