About the Company

Our client is an established South African manufacturer and supplier of packaging solutions, specializing in corrugated cardboard packaging and printed packaging products. The business operates within the packaging and printing industry, with a focus on delivering quality products that meet customer specifications and production requirements.

The company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure efficient production, consistent quality and adherence to strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure production targets and deadlines are met.

• Oversee the manufacturing of corrugated cardboard boxes and packaging products.

• Manage and monitor lithographic printing processes, ensuring high-quality print standards and accurate finished products.

• Ensure the efficient utilisation of machinery, materials and labour.

• Monitor product quality and implement corrective action where necessary.

• Manage production staff, allocate duties, monitor performance and maintain productivity.

• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and company procedures.

• Minimise material waste, machinery downtime and production costs.

• Coordinate with planning, quality control, maintenance and dispatch departments to ensure smooth workflow.

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow and overall operational efficiency.

• Ensure production schedules are followed, and customer requirements are consistently met.

• Compile and maintain accurate production reports and records.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor within a manufacturing environment.

• Essential: Practical experience and sound knowledge of lithographic printing (litho) processes.

• Experience in the corrugated cardboard, carton manufacturing or packaging industry will be a strong advantage.

• Good understanding of production planning, quality control and workflow management.

• Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage a production team.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production deadlines.

• Computer literacy, including the ability to complete production reports and maintain accurate records.

• A practical, hands-on approach to production supervision and problem-solving.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven individual with strong leadership abilities, excellent attention to detail and a hands-on approach to production management.

A sound understanding of lithographic printing is essential, together with the ability to maintain high print standards, optimise production processes, control waste and ensure the efficient use of resources. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while leading a team and ensuring that quality and delivery targets are consistently achieved.
