Role Overview
The Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring smooth material flow, and supporting production efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, disciplined, and confident working with Sage 300 and established stock-control processes.Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock records and perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations
- Monitor raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and consumables
- Capture and process stock movements on Sage 300
- Conduct cycle counts and full stock takes
- Investigate variances and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and dispatch teams
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and manufacturing standards
- Prepare inventory reports for management
- Support continuous improvement in stock-control processes
Minimum Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in stock control / inventory management
- Sage 300 proficiency (non-negotiable)
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Matric; relevant certificate/diploma in Supply Chain/Inventory Management advantageous
