Role Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for a technically skilled professional to ensure motor vehicle electrical components consistently perform to specification throughout their full lifecycle. The role focuses on new part introduction, continuous improvement, testing, and providing expert technical support for electrical components and harnesses within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate and manage qualification programmes for new part introductions.
Ensure motor vehicle components meet performance and specification requirements across all lifecycle phases.
Conduct testing and evaluation of parts in accordance with defined specifications and standards.
Identify root causes of part deviations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using structured quality methodologies.
Provide technical expertise relating to materials, design, and functional performance of electrical components and harnesses.
Initiate and support design improvements for complex electrical part and harness issues.
Interpret and apply technical drawings, specifications, and testing requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive sector.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
In-depth understanding of motor vehicle electrical components, harnesses, and their functions.
Strong knowledge of component specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
Practical application of quality tools and methodologies, including DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice.
Valid driver’s licence.
