Job Summary
Our client in the FMCG industry is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Millwright to join their dynamic team based in Coega, Port Elizabeth.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.
Requirements:
- Relevant Trade Test (Millwright / Electrician)
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in an FMCG or production environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Basic PLC knowledge for fault diagnosis
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Good planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
- Ensure all machinery operates according to safety and quality standards
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of equipment before release to production
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports
- Assist in improving preventative maintenance strategies
- Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize production downtime
- Work closely with production teams, supervisors, and external suppliers
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of spare parts and tools
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company policies
- Participate in shift work, including weekends and public holidays as required
