Job Summary
As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive costings for production jobs. This role suits someone analytical, detail-focused, and confident working with numbers and manufacturing processes. You’ll assess client requirements, calculate costs, and produce quotes while collaborating with sales, production, and procurement to ensure efficient and profitable pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse client specifications and prepare accurate cost estimates for printing and labelling projects.

Calculate material usage, labour requirements, and machine time to produce competitive quotations.

Capture all costing information into Syspro or similar ERP systems and maintain accurate pricing data.

Collaborate with sales, production, and procurement to confirm feasibility, material availability, and timelines.

Manage quotation updates, revisions, and documentation to ensure accuracy throughout the process.

Monitor cost trends, identify discrepancies, and recommend cost-saving alternatives when possible.

Maintain standard costing structures and ensure all information is consistently updated.

Support continuous improvement by identifying areas to streamline estimating processes.
Requirements:

Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimating or costing within a manufacturing or printing environment.

Experience using Syspro or similar ERP systems.

Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
