Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is currently seeking to employ a Maintenance Fitter to join their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Qualified Trade Tested Fitter.
• Valid South African Driver's Licence (essential).
• Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
• Ability to participate in a standby roster and respond to after-hours breakdowns when required.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant and production equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
• Attend to emergency breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Participate in standby duties and respond to call-outs as required.
• Maintain maintenance records and complete job cards accurately.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and maintenance processes.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.

Remuneration and Benefits:

• Normal Working Hours: 42 hours per week
• Annual Leave: 15 days per year
• Annual Bonus: 15 days' bonus (pro-rated where applicable)
• Provident Fund:
  • Employer Contribution: 6%
  • Employee Contribution: 5%
• No Medical Aid provided.
• Standby allowance and call-out duties applicable as per company requirements.
