Overview:
As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, upkeep, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment critical to production. While the role involves both mechanical and electrical tasks, the primary focus is mechanical. You’ll work independently, reporting directly to the Factory Manager, and play a key role in ensuring uptime, safety, and food quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Mechanical and electrical maintenance of production equipment, building infrastructure, and utilities.
- Breakdown response and rehabilitation to ensure minimal downtime and no safety or quality risks.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans.
- Conducting root cause analysis and applying corrective measures.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
- Managing job cards, maintenance records, and assisting with operational planning.
- Coordinating with external contractors when required.
Requirements:
- Millwright or mechanical trade qualification preferred
- Red Seal Certification (advantageous)
- Strong mechanical background with some electrical/pneumatic knowledge
- Prior experience working with food manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with food safety systems (FSSC) and preventative maintenance
