Midvaal Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, for a technically strong and hands-on Workshop / Hydraulic Technician.
This opportunity is suited to a mechanically inclined individual with solid experience in power tool repairs, hydraulics, and fault-finding who thrives in a structured workshop environment.
Role Purpose:
To determine root causes of failure and perform repairs on electrical power tools and hydraulic units, including routine inspections and preventative maintenance, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to workshop standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Compulsory)
- Minimum N3 with Electrical Trade Theory
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Power Tool Technician
- Previous repair experience (essential)
- Power Tool Repairs Certificate (advantageous)
- Knowledge of major brands such as Bosch, Makita, etc. (advantageous)
- Experience in fault-finding (essential)
- Exposure to SAP Business One (advantageous)
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Hands-on technical capability
- High-pressure hydraulics fault-finding and repairs
- Pneumatics fault-finding, maintenance and repairs
- Electrical power tool diagnostics and repair
- Strong attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Book in units for repair and create detailed job cards
- Diagnose faults and repair hydraulic units and power tools
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Conduct quality control checks
- Mentor learnerships by teaching repair skills
- Assist customers and reps with offloading units when required
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and housekeeping standards
- Submit required reports
