Job Summary
Core Purpose
Operate and program the Weeke Vantage 35M CNC machining center to precision-cut, drill, and route wood-b panels for cabinetry, carcasses, and custom furniture. Ensure efficient, safe, and accurate production of components to meet quality and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Programming
Set up, operate, and program the Weeke Vantage 35M using CAD/CAM software (e.g., WoodWOP, SolidWorks).
Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and job cards to configure machine parameters (toolpaths, speeds, feeds).
Select and install appropriate tooling (drills, saws, routers) for each job.
Production Execution
Process wood-based panels (MDF, chipboard, solid wood) for cabinetry, carcasses, and niche projects.
Execute complex drilling, routing, and grooving operations per specifications.
Monitor machine performance during runs to prevent errors or material waste.
Quality Control
Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and compliance with drawings.
Troubleshoot defects (e.g., tool wear, misalignment) and recalibrate as needed.
Maintain strict tolerances (±0.5mm) for precision joinery.
Maintenance & Safety
Perform daily machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, tool checks).
Adhere to OHS Act safety protocols: PPE, machine guards, emergency procedures.
Report mechanical faults or safety hazards immediately.
Workflow Coordination
Collaborate with production team to prioritise jobs and meet deadlines.
