VACANCY – EHS MANAGER

The company is looking for a competent and motivated person who can ensure BORBET SA comply with its legal compliance and continuously improve on all matters relating to all Environmental, Health and Safety matters within the South African legislation, BORBET Group standards and international best practices.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Health and Safety leadership by developing and implementing H&S strategy which is aligned to group objectives.

• Promotion of zero-harm culture across the organisation

• Ensure full compliance with OHS Act, environmental legislation, national and municipality environmental requirements, COIDA, Ergonomic Regulations etc

• Maintaining legal register, monitoring compliance and conducting compliance audits

• Lead implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System

• Maintain and continuously improve ISO 14001, ISO 45001

• Lead investigations into first aid cases, lost time injuries, near misses etc.

• Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and HR to reduce operational risk

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary education in the field of EHS, ND: EHS essential, BTech: EHS preferred

• SAMTRAC Certified

• Incident Investigation qualification

WORK EXPERIENCE

• At least 10 years EHS senior working experience in a Manufacturing environment

• Experience with aluminium or metal manufacturing processes is advantageous

• Implementation and experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

• Experience interfacing with multinational corporate headquarters

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Computer literacy essential

• Good decision making and Organisational skills essential

• Ability to work under pressure with analytical and strategic thinking

• Good communication and presentation skills when meeting external customers
