Job Summary:
A leading organisation within the heavy equipment sector is seeking an experienced Sales Executive / Sales Representative to drive equipment sales within the KwaZuluNatal region.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy machinery, earthmoving equipment, or capital equipment sales, with established relationships and a proven
track record within the industry. This role focuses on selling construction and infrastructure-related heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, cranes, road machinery, and related equipment, to contractors, fleet owners, and end users within the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and grow equipment sales within the assigned region
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across construction, infrastructure, quarrying, plant hire, and related sectors
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients and key accounts
• Promote heavy equipment solutions to contractors, end users, and fleet operators
• Conduct client visits, site visits, demonstrations, and product presentations
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and sales documentation
• Negotiate and close sales opportunities effectively
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer demand
• Collaborate with internal teams including service, parts, and operations to ensure strong customer support
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
• Contribute to brand presence and market growth within the region
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or related field (advantageous)
• 3–5+ years’ experience in heavy equipment, earthmoving, or capital equipment sales
• Strong background in construction, mining, or related industrial equipment sales
• Experience within OEM or authorised dealer environments is highly preferred
• Established customer network within the region (advantageous)
• Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, tenders, and technical product applications
• Valid driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel for client engagement and site visits
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Self-driven, target-oriented, and commercially focused
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with exposure to leading global or regional heavy equipment brands and dealer networks will be highly considered.
