Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven Quality Inspector to oversee and ensure compliance across all stages of truck body manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-production inspections, including checking material cuts, bending accuracy, and cage materials.
- Inspect assembly stages to ensure correct measurements, squareness of the body, and adherence to technical drawings.
- Monitor welding quality, ensuring correct penetration and that all weld points are completed to standard.
- Oversee preparation stages, ensuring all welds are properly ground and surfaces are clean and ready for filler application.
- Inspect body filler and sanding processes to confirm all welds and joints are properly filled, smoothed, sealed, and sanded.
- Evaluate paintwork in the spray booth, ensuring proper priming, no defects (such as runs or fish eyes), and correct finish, shine, and coverage.
- Conduct final fitment inspections, ensuring:
- Mounting plates are correctly fitted and secured
- Bodies are correctly primed underneath and mounted
- All welding and bolting are completed to standard
- Stickers, reflectors, handles, and fittings are properly installed and secured
- Floors, battery covers, light protectors, underrun bumpers, and chassis are correctly fitted and painted
- No overspray, scratches, or damage is present
- Perform continuous quality checks across all stages to ensure correct fitment and use of materials.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or engineering environment (truck body building experience advantageous)
- Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and paint processes
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
