Job Summary
A company that is an online flower and gift retailer, offering same-day delivery of flowers, personalized gifts, hampers, perfume, and jewelry nationwide, is seeking a proactive, commercially-minded Product Developer to join their team. You will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing product ranges that excite customers, drive sales growth, and maintain healthy margins.
Responsibilities:
Trend Analysis: Identify emerging market trends and customer needs to source and develop high-potential products.
GTM Execution: Collaborate with Marketing to execute successful product launches and track post-launch performance.
Sales Growth: Develop buying strategies for assigned categories and identify opportunities through sales data analysis.
Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships and evaluate performance metrics.
Negotiation: Secure favorable pricing, delivery, and payment terms to protect and improve profit margins.
Cost Optimization: Monitor cost structures and identify savings without compromising quality or value.
Stock Optimization: Balance product availability with holding costs by monitoring turnover and reorder cycles.
Demand Forecasting: Partner with Supply Chain to forecast demand, prevent stockouts, and reduce lead times.
Systems Management: Utilize inventory management systems to maintain data accuracy and replenishment reliability.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience: Proven background in product development, buying, or procurement (Retail environment preferred).
Analytical Skills: Proficient in interpreting sales data, forecasting demand, and using inventory management software.
Negotiation: Skilled at managing vendor relationships and securing high-value agreements.
Mindset: A customer-focused collaborator with strong project management and communication skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Consumer Science, Supply Chain, or Marketing preferred.
