The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Acting CFO, the successful individual will play a strategic and operational role in driving procurement execution, supplier management, contract lifecycle control, and procurement governance across the business.
You will work closely with:
- Operations
- Finance
- Suppliers
- Site leadership
- Internal stakeholders across multiple operational functions
The role includes regular travel to the Middelburg site once or twice per week and requires someone physically and mentally capable of operating within demanding mining conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and contract lifecycle management
- Drive tender processes, supplier negotiations, and contract execution
- Enforce procurement policy and governance across the business
- Coordinate operational procurement requirements with site operations
- Manage supplier performance, SLA adherence, and procurement reporting
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and commercial negotiations
- Monitor procurement risk, compliance, and supplier performance metrics
- Build strong internal stakeholder relationships while maintaining procurement discipline
- Ensure procurement activities align with operational and budgetary requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in:
- Supply Chain
- Procurement
- Logistics
- Commerce
- Minimum 5+ years procurement experience
- Mining experience is essential
- Strong contract management and supplier negotiation capability
- Proven experience operating in high-pressure operational environments
- Valid driver’s license and own transport required
- Must be medically fit for mining site access and capable of passing site medicals in line with DMPR legislation
