This role leads the finance function across the West Africa region, providing strategic oversight and a trusted business partnership to regional leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and insightfulness of financial information across multiple countries, while driving performance, strengthening controls, and supporting growth initiatives. The position plays a key role in finance transformation, standardisation, and continuous improvement, balancing regional requirements with global frameworks.
The role is based in Accra and works closely with country finance teams, regional leadership, and global stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality financial management across the region.

What You’ll Do
Provide financial oversight across multiple countries, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting
Monitor regional financial performance, analyse key metrics, and drive improvement actions
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario planning across the region
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, governance frameworks, and compliance standards
Partner with internal and external auditors, ensuring audit readiness and follow-through
Drive finance transformation initiatives and process standardisation
Oversee risk management, treasury, cash management, and tax compliance in collaboration with group functions
Develop, coach, and strengthen regional finance teams
What You Bring
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior finance controller role, preferably within shipping or agency-based operations in Africa
CA or equivalent professional qualification
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, tax, and transfer pricing
Experience in principal and agency accounting environments
Proven ability to lead change, implement new processes, and improve systems
Strong stakeholder management skills within complex, matrix organisations
Excellent communication skills in English; French is a strong advantage
Demonstrated experience leading and developing diverse teams
