Job Summary
Our client has expanded their freight forwarding business to a number of different jurisdictions including: Mozambique, Tanzania, Mauritius, Netherlands and requires the expertise of an experienced Group Financial Manager who will provide support for all these new entities and liaise with the in-country teams. The role is a back-office/support function and will be based in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
Key Requirements for consideration
- Bcom Accounting with completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Must have at least three years of group consolidation experience
- Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage cross-functional teams especially in African jurisdictions
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions and hedging
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAGE
- Must live within close proximity to Bryanston (MAX 25km)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the full financial function, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team
- Drive strategic financial planning and contribute to executive decision-making
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and governance standards
- Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to optimize processes
- Analyze and manage financial risks, cash flow, and cost structures
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and systems
- Support and lead financial audits and year-end processes
- Compile and present monthly shareholder reporting packs
- Collaborate with business units to prepare and review monthly financial reporting packs
- Oversee group-level cash flow reporting and management
- Perform and manage group consolidations across entities
- Support due diligence processes when required
- Manage the Group Profit & Loss statement
- Evaluate and improve business unit financial processes to drive profitability and efficiency
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including IFRS
- Must have an exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients, vendors and other stakeholders
