Job Summary
Job Title: Boilermaker / Truck Body Fabricator
We are looking for an experienced Boilermaker to join our workshop team, specialising in the fabrication, repair, and assembly of truck bodies and metal components. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, metal fabrication, panelshop support, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Duties include
- Fabricate, cut, shape, and assemble metal components for truck bodies
- Perform welding, repairs, and modifications on damaged vehicle/truck body components
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job cards
- Use fabrication tools including plasma cutters, grinders, shears, and oxy-fuel equipment
- Conduct vehicle strip, assembly, and panel alignment
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and roadworthiness
- Order and check parts as required for repairs and rebuilds
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure adherence to safety procedures
- Complete job documentation accurately and within project deadlines
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Red Seal Trade Certificate advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ Boilermaker / fabrication workshop experience
- Experience in truck body fabrication, repairs, or panelshop operations
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of workshop safety protocols and quality standards

- Team player with good communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Organised and safety conscious
Advantageous:
- Experience with commercial vehicles, truck trailers, or fleet workshops
- Knowledge of oxy-fuel cutting, jigs, fixtures, and steel welding
