Purpose of the Role:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring that our processes meet high standards of inventory management, safety, and efficiency. This role is crucial for maintaining their reputation for quality and responsiveness in a fast paced industry.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
o Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of electrical cables.
o Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock controlling.
o Manage stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
2. Operations Management:
o Develop and implement effective warehouse policies and procedures.
o Optimize warehouse layout for efficient space utilization.
o Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Team Management:
o Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff.
o Uphold health and safety regulations.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
4. Quality Control:
o Monitor the quality of both incoming and outgoing products.
o Address customer complaints related to warehouse operations promptly.
o Implement quality assurance processes to maintain product standards.
o Ensure that the delivery vehicles are maintained at the highest standard.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
o Prepare regular reports on warehouse operations.
o Keep accurate records of inventory, shipments, and returns.
o Collaborate with other departments for seamless operations.
6. Supplier and Client Relations:
o Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely order fulfillment.
o Liaise with the sales team to meet client specifications.
o Resolve supply chain and distribution issues effectively.
7. Delivery Scheduling and Trip Planning:
o Plan and schedule delivery routes to optimize efficiency and minimize transit times.
o Analyze delivery operations to identify potential improvements and implement solutions that enhance route planning.
o Collaborate with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure seamless coordination, adjusting schedules as needed based on real-time factors such as traffic conditions, order volumes, and customer priorities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of warehouse management and inventory control.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Sage 200 Evolution and MS Office.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in warehouse management, preferably in the electrical supplies industry.
