YOUR ROLE The Refund Clerk will be tasked to ensure any adjustments, corrections or refunds on cleared entries are submitted correctly and in accordance with all relevant Customs guidelines and legislation.
Adhering to the latest Customs regulations applicable for the various industries in the allocated portfolio.
Assisting Business Unit Managers on correcting clearances with a view to identifying, presenting solutions and resolving shipments needing to be corrected or refunded.
Ensuring all documents are available for correcting customs clearance.
Liaison with the Business Unit to request any documents required for processing corrections.
Analysing documents for accuracy and notifying the Channel Controller| OCC if additional information is required.
Framing the Voucher of Correction on Cargowise.
Ensuring that the correct tariff headings and/or duties are applied.
Quality checking corrections made and ensure that corrections are cross checked if necessary especially high value claims.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Advanced MS Office proficiency.
Tariff knowledge exposure is essential.
Proven understanding of the Freight Forwarding industry.
Effective time-management skills.
Good Customs knowledge in the South African environment.
Analytical ability and proven problem solving skills.
