Job Summary

Location: Phoenix, KZN

Job Purpose:

To provide effective supervision to personnel to ensure production standards and regulations are maintained. To oversee the overall manufacturing of the factory, ensure optimized production, and ensure a safe work environment for staff.

Requirements:

Matric
Production Management qualification
7-10 years of Production Management experience (preferably within the truck, motor, or heavy engineering industry).
Experience and knowledge of World Class Manufacturing & Lean Manufacturing.
Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 QS
Knowledge of Road Ordinances and Safety Regulations

Responsibilities:

Supervising Staff.
Ensuring all delivery commitments are met timeously.
Adhering to Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Complying with OSH Act and ISO9001.
Ensure production complies with standards and specifications as per the company's Work Procedures.
Oversee Production Plan/Schedule for all-new Truck Bodies and Trailers.
Ensure compliance to schedule
Resource and ensure all material availability.
Daily follow-ups on Production Progress as scheduled.
Oversee Production Meetings.
Minimize overtime.
Allocate resources taking into account customer requirements and optimization of profits.
Oversee the regulation of work shifts to ensure proper workload distribution.
Ensure that all “must finish dates” are met
Co-ordinate Training and Development of all production staff.
Co-ordinate Disciplinary Procedures
Maintain a disciplined workforce
Continual Improvement of Production Processes.
Lean manufacturing – reduce wastage
Optimized productivity, identify jigs, equipment & tools
Design and implement plans for the effective use of material and labour resources to achieve manufacturing targets.
Five “S” audits.
Ensure scheduling of buyouts to meet targets set – (Tail Lifts, and Cooler Units).
Oversee Material Supply.
Ensure that the factory operates safely in terms of the OHS Act.
Monitor the manufacturing team to ensure operations are in compliance with all Health and Safety Standards always.
Conduct Assessments to identify mechanical and procedural limitations that minimize work efficiency.
Daily plant walk/s to ensure housekeeping kept to the required standards.
Liaise with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure product quality and specifications are consistent.
Weekly Report Back meeting to the Sales Department.
Ensure Performance within Budget.
