Job Summary
Our client based in Mobeni is looking for a Data capturer. The Data Capturer is responsible for entering, checking, and updating import and export logistics data on Salesforce. This role ensures that truck details, cargo weights, and customs forms are correctly recorded so that goods can move in and out of the warehouse without delay.
Key Responsibilities
1. Export Data & Cargo Releases
Find delivery files on Salesforce and match them against physical warehouse tally sheets.
Copy transport details from internal Gate Passes into the system, including truck/trailer registrations, driver names, and gate times.
Finalize delivery files on the system, print out Cargo Releases, apply stamps, and upload scanned copies.
2. Cross-Border & Customs Checks
Check that all driver paperwork, invoices, packing lists, and customs forms (such as SAD 500/505) are present in the delivery pack.
Double-check that the cargo weights and truck registrations match perfectly across all paperwork.
Sign and stamp designated customs documents, and request corrections (VOCs) from the customs department if you spot any weight or trailer errors.
3. Import Tracking & Warehouse Receipts
Set up new cargo releases on Salesforce for incoming shipments, specifying the correct pickup and delivery points.
Record where cargo is physically stored by entering exact warehouse aisle and bin locations.
Ensure proper customs clearing codes (WE or XE) are uploaded before finalizing import paperwork, and follow up on missing documents.
4. Weight & Inventory Updates
Update individual piece sequences, bag/bundle IDs, and precise weights using the system's "Maintain Pieces" tool.
Handle specific client rules, such as adding custom prefixes to seal numbers or doing basic math to split a total bulk weight evenly across individual bags.
