Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and hands-on Lodge Facilities Coordinator for a luxury lodge and reserve in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This live-in role is suited to a practical maintenance professional with strong mechanical, technical and general property maintenance experience. The successful candidate will help ensure the lodge, reserve infrastructure and vehicle fleet remain safe, reliable and maintained to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Maintain and repair safari vehicles and reserve equipment Implement preventative maintenance and servicing schedules Carry out mechanical diagnostics, fault-finding and general repairs Maintain guest accommodation, public areas and operational facilities Attend to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance Maintain pumps, boreholes, water systems, fences, gates and workshop equipment Assist with reserve road and infrastructure maintenance Manage tools, spares, service records and maintenance logs Liaise with contractors and external service providers where required Ensure vehicles, facilities and equipment meet health and safety standards Identify maintenance risks and respond quickly to operational issues Requirements Five to ten years’ maintenance experience, preferably within a lodge, reserve or remote environment Practical trade qualification advantageous Strong mechanical, electrical and general maintenance knowledge Experience with vehicle maintenance and diagnostics Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Valid driver’s licence Comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable and solution-driven, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high operational and safety standards.
