Assistant Lodge Manager | Zululand – KZN | 3 Star Lodge We are looking for an ambitious, and highly presentable ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER to join the management team of a 3-star lodge, located 45 km from Dundee, KZN. This is a diverse, "hands-on" role where you will act as the face of the lodge. While your primary hub will be the Front Office, you will serve as the Manager’s right hand, gaining exposure to every facet of running a luxury remote lodge. The lodge is specializing in high-end heritage tourism and battlefield tours. Their operation is defined by meaningful staff-guest interaction, creating an immersive and sophisticated atmosphere for travelers from around the globe. Key Responsibilities Guest Relations & Front Desk: Lead the welcome experience, handle reservations (SEMPER), and ensure a high level of personalized interaction, particularly in the dining room environment. Operational Oversight: Assist in managing staff across various departments including Housekeeping and Kitchen. Management Support: Step in to relieve the General Manager and oversee stock control and general administrative duties. Standards Maintenance: Ensure the lodge’s reputation for excellence is maintained through meticulous attention to detail in all public and guest areas. Requirements Experience: Proven experience in a lodge environment with a solid understanding of general management and staff supervision. Communication: 100% fluency in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reservation systems (knowledge of SEMPER is a distinct advantage). Logistics: A valid driver’s license is essential. Due to our remote location, having your own vehicle is highly recommended for personal travel during leave. Personality: We are looking for a "team player" with a great sense of humor, a high level of emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Own transport would be desired as no public transport is available for leave cycles (taxis as alternative). Salary Package: Salary ZAR 9000 Live-in position with private en-suite accommodation.
