Job Summary
Our client, based in Gouda, Western Cape, is a dynamic manufacturing and innovation company specialising in innovative fruit-based products for local and international markets. The Group is looking for a Procurement Specialist to manage and optimise the sourcing of materials, products and services, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, availability and reliable supply in line with production and business requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining relationships with vendors, including negotiating contracts and reviewing contracts for legal compliance.
Getting quotes for non-stock and stock items not on MRP.
Getting quotes and contracts for creating purchase orders and ensuring that they are in line with company policies and procedures.
Recommending new suppliers and negotiating supplier contracts to ensure that all terms are met.
Preparing reports on expenditures and analyzing trends in spending to identify areas of potential waste or abuse.
Negotiating contract terms with vendors, including price, delivery schedule, and payment terms.
Following up with vendors to ensure that orders are delivered on time and within budget parameters.
Coordinating with internal departments to ensure that orders are processed correctly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Matric (Essential)
Diploma in Supply Chain Management and logistics (Advantages)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
Knowledge of reading and understanding the raw material market.
Excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
