Job Summary
Job Purpose To lead and manage the housekeeping department in delivering exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and guest service standards aligned with a five-star luxury hospitality offering. Responsible for maintaining accommodation excellence, leading the housekeeping team, and ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management · Lead, coach, and develop the housekeeping team to achieve service excellence. · Manage daily operations, staff allocation, performance, and departmental standards. · Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability. Guest Experience & Service Excellence · Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and facilities meet luxury presentation standards. · Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, attention to detail, and quality control. · Respond to guest requests and feedback professionally. Housekeeping Operations · Oversee guest rooms, laundry, public areas, and back-of-house housekeeping functions. · Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Qwabi service standards. · Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. Health; Safety & Compliance Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safe working practices. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Monitor equipment maintenance and report operational concerns. Stock Control & Administration Manage linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and departmental resources. Control costs, minimise wastage, and maintain accurate operational records. Training & Development Train and mentor staff to uphold luxury housekeeping standards. Drive continuous improvement and service excellence within the department. Minimum Requirements · Grade 12 (Matric) required; Hospitality qualification advantageous. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in luxury lodge, hotel, or premium hospitality operations. · Previous experience in a senior housekeeping or supervisory role. · Strong knowledge of housekeeping standards, hygiene, quality control, and guest service. · Computer literate with Microsoft Office experience. · Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays.
