This is a guiding position responsible for delivering high‑quality game drives, supporting guest activities, and ensuring guests enjoy an engaging, memorable safari experience.
The lodge is adjacent to Welgevonden Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s most exclusive Big 5 wilderness areas. The Field Guide will conduct regular game drives inside Welgevonden, benefiting from its low vehicle density, excellent wildlife sightings, and beautiful Waterberg landscapes. The role also includes short guided walks and nature activities on the lodge’s own plains‑game property, which does not require Trails qualifications.
This position requires a guide with a warm, engaging personality — someone who enjoys interacting with guests and creating memorable experiences. Strong Waterberg knowledge is preferred.
The Field Guide must also be able to upsell additional game drives and activities, host guests at dinner, and assist with creative guest experiences such as stargazing, kids’ activities, and bush talks.
Basic maintenance and mechanical skills are valued due to the remote environment.
