Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Junior Sous Chef on behalf of a luxury lodge based in the Klaserie Reserve. This role is ideal for a hands-on, creative chef seeking experience in a high-end hospitality environment, supporting the Executive and Sous Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for lodge guests.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with lodge standards
Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
Supervise and train kitchen staff as required
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in the kitchen
Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
Monitor stock levels, ordering and inventory control
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all dishes served
Collaborate with the team to optimise kitchen efficiency and service
Requirements
Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a lodge or luxury hospitality environment
Basic understanding of kitchen operations and culinary techniques
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
Team-oriented with good communication skills
Willingness to live on-site at the lodge
