Hospitality and Outdoor - Field Guide Thabazimbi; Limpopo A well‑established safari lodge is seeking a skilled and professional Field Guide to deliver an exceptional, holistic safari experience for guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about conservation, confident in guiding both on foot and by vehicle, and able to assist with departmental administration. This role requires a team‑oriented individual who thrives in a high‑standards environment and enjoys mentoring junior guides. Requirements FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF4 (Level 2 full trails) & Trails Guide qualification ARH & Rifle Proficiency First Aid Level 1 Valid Driver’s License + PrDP Previous luxury lodge Field Guide experience Strong understanding of FGASA standards and guiding culture Excellent attention to detail and hygiene standards Strong guest‑service focus Effective communication (written & verbal) Positive attitude, emotional control & strong teamwork Excellent time management and self‑discipline Proactive; creative, adaptable, and professional Loyal; committed, flexible, and able to work under pressure Strong people skills: patience, tolerance, and openness to feedback Duties Guiding Operations Deliver safe, informative game drives and interpretive bush walks Conduct guest intro and safety briefings Perform tracking, spoor identification & ecological presentations Host guests during bush activities, drinks stops & kids’ safari experiences Follow all procedures for safari operations, equipment, assets & vehicles Be available for all game drives, backup duties & standby rotations Practice safe, proficient firearm handling Assist with incident response (medical, fire, flood, evacuation) Guest Experience Gather and communicate all relevant guest information before arrival Record and report guest preferences to management Address guest concerns immediately and professionally Administration & Team Support Assist Safari Management with departmental admin Support lodge social media with relevant wildlife content Provide mentorship leadership to trainee guides and colleagues Package on Offer Market‑related salary Live‑in accommodation Professional industry benefits Training; development & long‑term growth opportunities
