Field Guiding Academy based close to Thabazimbi looking for an Assistant Training Facilitator responsible for supporting principal facilitators in executing training activities within the framework of the approved curriculum. This is a developmental role with excellent opportunities for growth in both the guiding and training spheres . The Assistant Facilitator will have access to FGASA and CATHSSETA mentors and assessors ; providing an incredible resource for professional growth and qualifications. Duties: Ensuring that students are aware of the daily activities and general schedule Conduct learning according to the highest (FGASA) standards, guiding culture and Standard Operating Procedures Implement FGASA & academy Code of Conduct, always adhering to COC’s Ensuring that the course syllabus is kept up to date, covers all statutory requirements to ensure the College is continually endorsed by FGASA Creative with regards to training content and delivery. Be innovative in the methodology and strive to introduce new content Facilitate activities in the field via Game Drives, Walks, Trails and Field Observations. This is an excellent opportunity for a young guide to accumulate mentored hours, gain experience and improve qualifications under the guidance of FGASA mentors and assessors. Facilitating lectures, workshops, training, and team building Monthly student progress reports to the safari manager Act as a role model within and outside the parameters of the College Offer guidance and support to students, adapting to different learning styles Ensure that student duties are fulfilled Adhere to CATHSSETA requirements for training providers (i.e., compile periodical student reports) Ensure that personal legalities are always up to date and records kept on central filing system (NDT, PrDP, First Aid, Assessors, ARH/SAN Park shooting) Keep walking logs according to Park Management requirements Ensuring that College campus always looks presentable Ensure that Lecture and storeroom equipment is stored with care and maintained in good working order Ensure that all breakages and required repairs are reported, and repairs are implemented without delay Assist with preventative maintenance and general maintenance where needed Managing daily checks via students so they are aware of basic vehicle maintenance. In liaison with Camp Management, ensuring that regular services are scheduled and effected. Keep record of maintenance via Job cards Ensuring that breakdowns are attended to within a reasonable time Ensuring that the vehicles are being driven sensibly and with care, by students and staff Keep rifles stored and maintained according to the firearms control act and regulations Ensure that rifle/ammo register is always kept updated Ensure that all safety and admin aspects are adhered to at the shooting range Management of all training operating equipment Assist the camp manager with training related administrative duties, such as reports, assessment submission and registrations Assist the marketing team with content for our digital media presence Continuously working and striving towards being the number one Field Guide Training Institution Create a safe, happy and fun learning and living environment for students and staff Requirements: Minimum 1 year experience in the bush working as a Field Guide Experience in a training environment will be highly beneficial FGASA NQF2 and Apprentice Trails Guide (essential) Driver’s License & PRDP Current (essential) ARH Current (essential) First Aid Level 2 Computer literate, with a strong grasp of MS suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint etc.)
