Job Summary
We are looking for a Waiter to provide excellent service to ensure great customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.
Main responsibilities:
Responsibilities include warmly greeting guests at assigned tables and ensuring each guest receives a menu and wine list; maintaining thorough knowledge of all menu items, including basic ingredients and preparation methods; ensuring tables are properly set with linens, silverware and glasses; taking accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system and ensuring timely delivery; communicating orders promptly to the bar and kitchen; clearing used cutlery and crockery; offering desserts and coffee; ensuring guests are billed accurately; maintaining a clean and hygienic restaurant area, fixtures and fittings; and ensuring that uniforms are clean and well-presented at all times.
Main requirements:
• Grade 12
• Preferably 3 years’ previous waiter/waitress experience
• Basic knowledge of wine and surrounding wine regions
• Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering information systems
• Basic mathematical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation and active listening skills
• Attentive and patient with customers
• Comfortable dealing with very distinguished clientele
• Must be well-presented
• Flexible and accountable
• Enthusiastic personality
