Housekeeper | Guest Farm | Stellenbosch We are looking for an experienced and reliable HOUSEKEEPER to join the team at a well-established, luxury guest farm in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This position is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in creating beautifully presented, spotless guest rooms and understands the level of attention to detail expected within a professional hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for housekeeping duties, including guest-room preparation, professional bed-making, linen handling, bathroom cleaning, general cleaning and turndown service. From time to time, the Housekeeper will also assist the chef with basic food preparation and meal service. This is a hands-on role suited to a candidate who is organised, dependable and able to work efficiently while maintaining consistently high standards. SALARY INFO: ZAR 9000 per month, increase possible after the probationary period and based on performance transport and meals are on own responsibility Housekeeper - Key Responsibilities Housekeeping and Guest Rooms Clean and prepare guest rooms to a high hospitality standard Perform professional bed-making and ensure beds are presented neatly and consistently Change; handle and organise guest linen and towels Ensure linen is clean, correctly placed and appropriately handled Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including showers, baths, basins, toilets, mirrors and other surfaces Dust; sweep, vacuum and mop guest rooms and other designated areas Clean and sanitise surfaces according to required housekeeping standards Ensure guest rooms are fully prepared before guest arrival Check rooms carefully for cleanliness, presentation and attention to detail Replenish guest-room supplies and amenities where required Maintain neat and welcoming guest areas Carry out turndown service when required Report maintenance issues, damages, missing items or housekeeping concerns promptly Handle guest belongings and property with care and discretion Maintain cleanliness in assigned common areas Follow appropriate cleaning, hygiene and safety procedures Turndown Service The successful candidate must understand professional turndown service and be confident preparing guest rooms for the evening. Duties may include: Refreshing and tidying the guest room Preparing beds for evening use Refreshing towels where necessary Ensuring the bathroom is clean and neatly presented Removing used items where applicable Ensuring the room is welcoming and ready for the guest’s return Maintaining a consistent level of presentation throughout the property Kitchen and Meal Service Assistance Although housekeeping will be the primary responsibility, the Housekeeper may occasionally be required to provide basic assistance to the chef. This could include: Assisting with basic food preparation Preparing ingredients as instructed by the chef Keeping preparation areas clean and organised Assisting with serving meals to guests Clearing dishes and service areas when required Assisting with washing up and general kitchen cleanliness Following hygiene and food-handling requirements Supporting the chef and hospitality team during busy periods Previous experience assisting in a kitchen or with food service will therefore be beneficial. Housekeeper - Requirements Previous professional housekeeping or accommodation cleaning experience Training or practical experience in general cleaning and housekeeping Good knowledge of professional bed-making techniques Experience handling linen and towels Experience cleaning and preparing guest bathrooms Previous experience with turndown service An understanding of guest-room presentation and hospitality standards The ability to work efficiently without compromising cleanliness Good organisational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail A professional and respectful attitude Good personal hygiene and grooming The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team A willingness to assist outside normal housekeeping duties when required Basic experience assisting with food preparation and meal service would be advantageous Personal Attributes We are looking for someone who is: Reliable and punctual Honest and trustworthy Hardworking and hands-on Neat and well organised Friendly and professional Guest focused Comfortable working as part of a small hospitality team Able to notice the small details that contribute to an excellent guest experience Flexible and willing to assist where required How to Apply To apply for Housekeeper | Guest Farm | Stellenbosch ; please submit your updated CV together with a recent professional photograph.
