Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a luxury safari operation in South Luangwa, Zambia . Based at the group’s operational base in Mfuwe ; this is a senior, hands-on role with regular travel to remote safari camps. The successful candidate will take responsibility for technical and maintenance operations across the properties, including workshop management, fleet maintenance, camp infrastructure, solar systems, refrigeration, generators and utilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and solutions-driven technical professional who is comfortable working in remote environments and managing a broad range of maintenance and infrastructure requirements. Key Responsibilities Oversee technical and maintenance operations across five remote safari camps. Manage preventative maintenance programmes for camp infrastructure, vehicles, generators, solar systems, refrigeration and utilities. Lead workshop operations, technical teams, stores management and maintenance planning. Ensure equipment, vehicles and infrastructure remain safe, reliable and operational. Respond effectively to technical breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements. Coordinate infrastructure upkeep and refurbishment projects. Manage maintenance budgets, stock and technical resources. Ensure high standards of safety, efficiency and asset management across the operation. Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar technical management role. Strong technical knowledge of: Solar systems Electrical installations Refrigeration Generators Pumps and plumbing Fleet maintenance Previous experience managing workshop or maintenance teams. Experience working in remote safari, lodge, conservation or similar environments would be highly advantageous. Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s licence. Willing and able to travel regularly between remote camps. The ideal candidate will be practical; proactive and highly capable ; with the ability to lead a technical team while remaining hands-on when required.
