Job Summary
Ultra Luxury Hotel in Sea Point is looking for a Spa & Wellness Director to lead the strategic vision, commercial operations ; and holistic guest experience of the spa and wellness department. This role bridges high-level business strategy with daily operations ; requiring a leader who can drive profitability while maintaining unparalleled standards of luxury, hygiene; and guest satisfaction. Duties: Strategic Leadership & Revenue Management: Develop and execute the overarching business, marketing, and commercial strategies for the spa to drive revenue growth and profitability. Manage department budgets, P&L (profit and loss) responsibilities, forecasting, and pricing strategies. Design high-margin wellness packages (e.g., corporate retreats, seasonal packages, and bridal offerings). Operations & Quality Control: Oversee day-to-day spa operations, including facility maintenance, scheduling, and inventory management. Continuously curate and innovate treatment menus and wellness programs aligned with market trends and the brand’s identity. Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Team Management & Development: Recruit; train, and mentor a diverse team of therapists, aestheticians, fitness instructors, and support staff. Conduct performance evaluations, manage shift schedules, and foster a culture of service excellence and continuous professional development. Guest Experience & Brand Positioning: Oversee the entire guest journey from initial booking to post-treatment follow-up to guarantee a memorable experience. Act as the face of the wellness brand, actively addressing guest feedback and elevating the overall ambiance. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant spa therapy or cosmetology qualifications At least 5 to 8+ years of progressive experience in luxury spa or wellness management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior director or executive leadership role. Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting), exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities, and deep knowledge of wellness modalities and product lines. Proficiency in specialized spa management software and MS Office suite.
