JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a qualified and experienced Spa Therapist to join a luxury game reserve in Paterson; Eastern Cape on a 3-month fixed-term contract . The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional spa treatments and creating a relaxing, personalised experience for guests. This is a live-in position ; ideal for a therapist who enjoys working in a luxury hospitality environment and is comfortable living and working within a remote game reserve. The Spa Therapist will be expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, hygiene and guest service while representing the reserve and its wellness offering. Guest Experience & Spa Treatments Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival at the spa. Conduct consultations with guests to establish their treatment requirements and preferences. Provide a range of professional spa treatments, including massages, facials, body treatments and other treatments within the therapist's qualifications. Ensure treatments are performed safely, professionally and according to the property's standards. Adapt treatments where appropriate based on guest preferences and individual needs. Provide guests with professional advice regarding treatments and suitable products. Create a calm, relaxing and personalised spa experience for every guest. Maintain professional boundaries and guest confidentiality at all times. Spa Operations Prepare treatment rooms before each appointment and ensure they are clean, hygienic and fully stocked. Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the spa and treatment areas. Clean and sanitise all equipment and treatment areas after each treatment. Ensure towels, linen, oils, creams and other treatment supplies are adequately stocked. Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management. Assist with stock control and proper storage of spa products. Ensure all equipment is used correctly and safely. Follow all health, safety and hygiene procedures. Guest Relations Build positive relationships with guests and provide personalised service. Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues. Handle guest queries and requests promptly and courteously. Obtain guest feedback and communicate relevant feedback to management. Promote additional treatments or suitable spa products where appropriate. Assist with creating memorable guest experiences. Administration Maintain accurate treatment bookings and guest records where required. Ensure all treatments and products are correctly recorded. Assist with daily opening and closing procedures. Follow the property's procedures regarding payments, treatment records and stock. Report any maintenance, equipment or operational issues to management. Teamwork Work closely with the lodge management and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. Communicate with the Front Office and Guest Relations teams regarding guest preferences and treatment bookings. Assist colleagues when required. Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times. Participate in training and meetings as required. Minimum Requirements Relevant Spa Therapy / Somatology qualification . Recognised massage qualification. Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a Spa Therapist. Experience within a luxury lodge, hotel, resort or spa environment would be highly advantageous. Excellent knowledge of professional spa treatments and massage techniques. Good knowledge of health, hygiene and safety procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and manner. Strong guest-service orientation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays. Must be comfortable working in a remote; live-in game reserve environment . Clear criminal record. Contactable references. Advantageous Experience working in a luxury safari lodge or game reserve . Additional qualifications in beauty therapy, skincare or wellness. Knowledge of luxury skincare and spa brands. Experience with spa booking systems. First Aid certification. Product sales experience. Previous experience in a five-star lodge, hotel, resort or luxury spa will be highly advantageous.
